LANE C

Terms of Use

These terms apply to the Lane C apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android, and to lanec.app.

Last updated: 31 July 2026

How we handle your data is explained separately: Privacy policy

Scope

Lane C is provided by BitCrux GmbH, Einsiedlerstrasse 216, 8810 Horgen, Switzerland, UID CHE-301.491.820 ('BitCrux', 'we'). These terms apply to the Lane C apps and to lanec.app. Your agreement is with BitCrux GmbH only; the personal liability of its shareholders, directors, employees and contractors is excluded to the extent the law permits. If you do not accept these terms, do not use Lane C.

Eligibility and minors

You must be legally able to enter this agreement. If you are a minor, use Lane C only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian; that adult is responsible for the use and for purchases through their store account, subject to mandatory law and the store's family rules. Lane C is not directed at children below the minimum age for their own store account.

What Lane C does

Lane C estimates speed-climbing performance from video, on your device. Results depend on the device, camera position, framing, lighting and visible movement and may be wrong or incomplete. Lane C is a training aid, not an official timing, judging, safety, medical or emergency system: do not use it for competition results, records or rankings, or for decisions that could cause injury. Usage statistics are explained in the privacy policy and can be switched off in Settings › Privacy.

Free use

You can use Lane C without paying. The free tier allows a limited number of analyses per rolling period; the app shows the current limit. We can change what the free tier includes, with effect for the future.

Subscriptions and prices

Athlete and Coach are monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscriptions, billed through your App Store or Google Play account; we run no separate billing. Before you buy, the store shows the billing period, total price including taxes, trial terms and renewal price. A 14-day trial may be offered on eligible yearly plans; unless cancelled by the store's deadline, a trial becomes a paid yearly subscription and a subscription renews at the price the store notifies. We can change prices for future periods — the store announces this, and you can cancel instead. If you subscribed at a launch price and stay subscribed without a gap, we intend to keep you on it where the store's legacy pricing allows.

Cancellation and refunds

Cancel before the renewal deadline shown in your store account: App Store › Subscriptions or Google Play › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions. Access continues to the end of the paid period. Request App Store refunds through Apple; Google Play may handle a refund itself or direct you to us — email info@lanec.app with the order ID. None of this reduces your mandatory rights: any statutory withdrawal, conformity, price-reduction, refund or termination right continues to apply.

App Store and Google Play

Distribution, billing and your store account are additionally governed by the App Store or Google Play terms. For Apple downloads, Apple's standard EULA governs the app licence unless a valid custom EULA is presented. If rules conflict, mandatory law prevails, then the store terms for matters the store controls, then these terms. Apple and Google are not parties to this agreement and owe no Lane C support — contact us at info@lanec.app.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for lawful filming and use: get permission from the venue and recognisable people — especially minors — before recording, analysing or sharing, follow the facility's rules and safe coaching practice, and keep any backups you need. Do not misuse Lane C, infringe rights, introduce malicious code, bypass usage or purchase checks, or reverse-engineer it beyond what mandatory law permits. You are responsible for activity through your device and store account unless we caused it.

Rights in the app and in your content

We claim no ownership of your videos, runs or analyses; third-party rights in recorded material remain unaffected. Lane C itself — software, models, design, text, name and logo — belongs to BitCrux or its licensors. You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable right to use the app as intended; copying, reselling, renting or redistributing it is not allowed except where mandatory law permits. A subscription enables paid features only while it is active. Deleting the app deletes neither runs in your private iCloud nor the Android settings backup (which contains no runs, videos or analyses; see the privacy policy).

Availability and third-party services

Lane C depends on compatible hardware and operating systems and on services from Apple, Google and other providers; their outages, changes or account decisions can affect downloads, purchases, iCloud or Android backup. We may change or discontinue free features; paid features will not be materially reduced during a paid period without a valid legal or security reason, and mandatory remedies remain. We are not responsible for failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, except for duties the law makes mandatory.

Warranty and liability

Nothing excludes or limits liability for intent or gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraudulent concealment, mandatory product liability, or any other liability that cannot legally be limited; mandatory consumer rights — including to conformity, security updates, cure, price reduction, refund and termination — remain unaffected. Where consumer law permits a limit for slight negligence, we are liable only for breach of an essential contractual duty and only for loss that was reasonably foreseeable and typical when the contract was made; otherwise liability for slight negligence is excluded where lawful. For business users, liability for slight negligence, indirect or consequential loss, lost profit and lost data is excluded, and aggregate non-mandatory liability is capped at the fees paid for Lane C in the preceding 12 months. These limits also protect our corporate bodies, employees and contractors.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using Lane C at any time; cancelling a subscription is separate from deleting the app. Your licence ends if you materially breach these terms, and we may restrict access to prevent unlawful use, fraud, security harm or serious repeated breach — with notice and a chance to remedy unless urgent action is necessary. Payments already due, surviving provisions (including intellectual property and liability) and your mandatory rights are unaffected.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms for the future for an objectively justified reason — a legal or regulatory requirement, a security issue, or a new or changed feature. The new version states its effective date; material changes are announced in the app or store listing where possible, with acceptance requested where the law requires. A current paid period will not be materially reduced except where law or urgent security requires it; your mandatory rights remain.

Applicable law and place of jurisdiction

If you are a consumer, the applicable law and courts are those the mandatory consumer, jurisdiction and conflict-of-law rules give you — nothing here changes that. Otherwise Swiss law applies and the place of jurisdiction is Horgen, the seat of BitCrux GmbH. If one provision fails, the rest stand.
